Mobiles Make Up a Quarter of Daily Media Consumption

 

According to a report from the mobile ad network InMobi, mobile makes up the highest amount of daily media consumption of people who possess and make use of mobile phones. Out of the average seven hours of media consumption in this set of consumers, mobile devices are used 108 minutes in contrast to the desktop usage of 93 minutes per day and TV usage of 92 minutes. Furthermore, the report indicates that tablets (37 minutes) were in fifth position by time spent, not far behind radio (52 minutes).

The study from InMobi comes via Mobile Marketing Magazine. For the report, 15,000 mobile users in 14 countries were surveyed. In addition to these facts, an impressive 75 per cent of respondents said they had discovered something new about a product via their mobile device instead of the usual media channels. 45 per cent said that mobile had influenced their in-store purchase behavior.
